There is hope!!!

This is for all the parents who are feeling lost and confused right now. My son is 3 and has verbal apraxia. I've spent countless weary hours trying to find answers. Here's what you should do (I wish someone just would have TOLD me!!).

Buy the book The Late Talker. You can buy it used for a few dollars at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You will need this book.

Start giving your child EFA's. There's quite a few. I use ProEFA and I mix about a tbsp. into his juice. It'll stick to the cup so just keep refilling the cup throughout the day.

If your child is under 3 you can get free speech therapy through the state.

Apraxia is included in the Autism spectrum. Read about Autism!! You'll find more information here than anywhere else.

Investigate every avenue that you come across. Some ideas will hit home with you and some will not-go with your gut.

I am starting my son on L-carnosine and zinc. There are studies that show that this may benefit speech. Carn-aware is the product a lot of parents are having success with.

There's research being done. They think it might be genetic now. I think that's just to cover up the vaccine issue, but who knows.

My son has made a lot of progress. People have actually been able to understand him lately. Keep talking to your child and help them express their ideas. Keep frustration to a minimum.

Good luck-you're not alone.........
