Our silent Sawyer

by Mandy
(St Charles MO)

Our son is 2 and a half, recently diagnosed with apraxia. He has been in therapy for 6 months but has made no real progress. We are starting to see some toddlerish behavior and encountering sleep issues. Somedays are harder than others. He eats less than 10 foods, less than 5 at times. Quirky but sweet, affectionate and so smart. Love my first born boy but I find my self worrying about him in the night.

Our son Nick is just now 2 1/2 and I post our info on here as well. He is one of 4 kids and I've never dealt with anything like this. Seems like babies just grow up and slowly learn. Nick is just now saying mama, although he says mama to about anything I feel its a great start for him. We are also starting therapy but I don't see how what they have recommended is going to make huge change. They had us set a goal for 6 months from now so I said 50 words but I feel thats a HUGE stretch... He gets so frustrated but he is so smart. Cognitively he will go get anything you ask. We just taught him to sign "more" and that he learned quick. It's just "more" what? haha. Whats a parent to do.
