My little man

by Allison
(Greenville, SC)

My older son, Dylan has not been officially diagnosed yet, but all the signs point to Apraxia. I have been doing lots of research and working one on one with him. He also goes to therapy three days a week. He is such a sweet, smart little guy, and it breaks my heart when he tries to communicate but it just doesn't come out right. There are times that I wonder if I did anything to cause this and I get so discouraged because I see my friend's kids talking well and my boy can't get his words out. He's three.

You are on the right path doing research to try to help your son. He is still young and with proper intervention apraxia can be overcome. He sounds like a sweet boy who is fortunate to have a mom like you.
